Profile

My academic background (Arts and Science) includes a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. After finishing my M. A. in Berlin, I spent several years in Canada, where I also gained work experience as a Personal Assistant in a well-known import company.

After my return to Germany, I was employed in several office and administrative positions. Among other occupations, I worked with an office service company as an in-house translator and interpreter for several years. In 2003, I acquired the accredited qualification “Translator and Interpreter for the English language” (German IHK - Chamber of Industry and Commerce). This qualification corresponds to the highest level (C2) of the Common European Framework of Reference of the Council of Europe.

In addition, I am authorized by the President of the Erfurt Regional Court to provide certified translations from English into German and vice versa.

I am a full member of the German Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators (BDÜ). This association is comparable to ATA, the American Translators Association or to ITI, the British Institute of Translation and Interpreting. The BDÜ is committed to high professional standards and only grants full membership to translators and interpreters with recognized credentials.

As a freelance translator, I greatly respect my customers´right to confidentiality. However, testimonials from clients who explicitly gave their prior consent are available on request. Customers wanting to verify my qualifications are also welcome to ask for references.
